Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a condition of the central nervous system, interfering with nerve impulses within the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves... MS affects over 23,000 people in Australia and with more than two million diagnosed worldwide... There is currently no known cure for MS, however there are a number of treatment options available to help manage symptoms and slow progression of the disease. - MS Australia.
MS Queensland hosts an annual Moonlight Walk to raise awareness and funds to support those who suffer from MS. Those who do the walk are encouraged to raise funds with their friends, family and colleagues for MS Queensland.
The Moonlight Walk for MS is an evening walk from 6pm - 9pm around Brisbane city. Both the 5km and 10km walks starting at the Cultural Centre Forecourt, with the 5km ending at the Botanical gardens and the 10km walk looping back to the Cultural Centre Forecourt. Each registration costs $35 (10km, adult) and goes towards cause and the organisation of the event.
The Rotaract Club of Brisbane International (rCBI) is a young club of enthusiastic members that want to work together to give back to our community. rCBI plans to gift both its time and funds to support new and existing causes, like MS Queensland.
As our first community event, rCBI's members and friends will participate in the Moonlight Walk for MS 2017, as a team. rCBI's goal is to raise at least $1000. As a token of being part of the rCBI team, we'll be rocking red bandanas.
After the walk, rCBI's members and friends are invited to drinks that will be held at a nearby drinking hole for alcoholic hydration, laughs and all round fun times!
We invite anyone and everyone to donate to this worthy cause. We also encourage you to join rCBI's team in the Moonlight Walk for MS and help raise funds with us!
